SIDEKICK DATA HANDLER | TELEMETRY

SIDEKICK Telemetry.png

From fiber-optic, high bandwidth communication, to ethernet over twisted-pair, telemetry solutions enable real-time monitoring of surveys

Every scientist superhero needs a SIDEKICK's help from time to time.

SIDEKICK Telemetry:

These enclosures provide power and communication management.
They convert high voltage (usually 400VDC) to required lower voltage inputs (5V,12V,24V,36V,48V). They always include relay boards to turn instruments on/off. Instruments are connected directly into the media-converter boards that sends each instruments stream to topside using fiber-optic communication protocol.

Single-mode Fiber-optic Telemetry:

Using media-converter cards, high bandwidth telemetry systems can be built with speed up to 2 x 2500Mbps (2 x 300MB/sec).

Cards can be stacked to interface with many instrument protocols. The most common systems uses GigE ethernet and serial cards.

Ethernet over twisted-pair:

Limited to 300m of cable and a bandwidth speed of approximately 20MB/sec, these boards are a great option to install inside a "SIDEKICK Logger".
